Life After God

Cleary inspired by the methodology of the "Life After People" series and the film and book "The Road"; I (Dark Riddle that is) am still pulling together a collective of authors to submit stories for this "On-line" project.  So far, I've gotten four short stories collected and I am getting a couple commentaries from two professors of the related theme.

What it's about is a look into a possible future where God or the belief in any God no longer exists. Although there are some non-fiction books out that touch base on that premise, as well as pure fiction books that do something similar; my intentions are to collect an anthology of short stories that will take this idea to its furthest potential. Both pro-religion and anti-religion stories should be included to set the balance. What I'm looking for here is not pure fiction as per say, but author's predictions on how our lives would change in a Life After God, but done so in a tangible and very personal tone.

What would our politics be like in a Life After God?

What would our Court system be like in a Life After God?

What would our schools be like in a Life After God?

What would our technology be like in a Life After God?

What would our health care system be like in a Life After God?

What would YOU be like in a Life After God?

Wow, that would be a stretch for someone like myself (agnostic/borderline atheist). Or maybe I'm over thinking it, and it wouldn't be a stretch at all; just an extension of my personal views.

I'm a christian of sorts, and wrote a story with an atheist as the hero and religion as oppressive; so stretching is alright. More so, it would be rare to collect an unbiased anthology of what a world without God would be like. I've seen plenty of books from atheists including Dawkin's that portray an inferred "age of reason" yet I have yet to see one book that collects both view points of religious and non-religious advocates that actually moves people emotionally. That's something I'd really like to get done.

There is a gut-wrenching and visceral story in Satirica on this theme, and as much as it shakes a religious platform, it is a powerful read that is guaranteed to make you think.
