Greetings,

I have been a writer for some time, off and on, but have only been published since 2000. I am also the editor of the magazine Horrotica, which one of your members, 'Doc,' is somewhat familiar. Since I am not sure if names are permitted here, I won't give it up at this point, but if you wish to Goggle some of my previous work, just let me know. Otherwsie, if you have any questions for me, please ask.

My Thanks

Howdy DragonHunter. Welcome to the CLP forum.
You are free to give us what ever handle you want. Most of us are on a first name basis, and many have earned nic-names for some obscure reason or other.

Glad to see you aboard, we have heard a lot about your outfit in the past. Doc speaks pretty highly of you.
Take a moment to check out our "Black Velvet Curtain" forum for anything that spikes your interest, and join in.

You have joined at an uncommonly quiet time, The staff is buried in the current book release project, and hot summer weather has everyone else doing everything but writing.
Speak up on what ever forum strikes your fancy, and you will get responses.

Again, welcome.

Oh, I think there are at least a few stories and poems Behind the Curtain that could peak your interest for the next issue of Horrotica, Terry. I would especially recommend Georgepat's stories (and my own poems, of course), as well as those by my sometimes collaborator, Cosmic Jazz, and some of Sparky's stuff.

All worth a look, anyways...

Howdy, Group,

I'm Rik Barnes.  I live in Greenville, North Carolina.  I'm 64 years old.  I will be 65 on the 18th, Monday week.  Since I've been a member of the group, my visits have been sparse.  They've been nonexistent for the past three weeks to a month because Yahoo! has temporarily locked my account, so I was told.  I sent a form which contained a copy of my driver's license to Yahoo! this afternoon.  I hope this gets my account unlocked.  I hope when I return, I can be more productive and more participatory.  Thanks, Roger, for keeping me as a member.  I look forward to communicating with you all when I return.  Thanks for reading.  Take care.

Roger and Doc--thank you both. My name is Terry D. Scheerer and I have been writing seriously for nearly nine years. I know that doesn't sound like a long tme, but when you are almost 60 years old every year takes on more meaning (just ask Rik). I will absolutely look over the stories Behind the Velvet Curtain. Hope to see you all soon.

Hi Terry,

It'll be neat to read some of your works.  Your photo is really neat.  I went into the bathroom and tried like hell to get my eyebrow to arch like that and damn! it is nearly impossible - okay, IMPOSSIBLE for me!   :?

When you go behind the Black Velvet Curtain kind of dust them off because I think they may need it.

Where are you from?  Children?  If so, how many?  I live in Bakersfield, CA, but was born in Lompoc, CA.  I have two children, now adults.  I have three grandchildren, a grand-llama, two grand-miniature horses, a grand gaggle of geese, two grand-kitties, and one hep-cat.  Guess that kind of sums up the bunch at my kid's places.  Both son and daughter are married and live in Oakhurst, CA.  My son lives about 5 miles up the winding road from the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park, and my daughter lives maybe 12 miles from the park.  Me?  I live about 2 miles from anything I want, including the ghetto.

Okay, that's me in a paragraph.

Be well, smile, and be good to you.

Not too sure I can follow this. I am wayyy short of being a pc genius. But, here is the link to my woefully inept website. One visit will show that I am no webmaster, but hey, it suffices.

Welcome Linda, good to see you aboard. All you have to do to enter a URL in your post, is click the little blue globe above, (mouse over to see "insert hyperlink), then place your URL between the tags it creates. Much easier the second time.

Proof of who I am? Hmmm. I started writing in Mrs. Morris's typing class at Citrus High School in a small 50's California town. During free time I began writing about what the faculty might be doing after hours. I placed Mr. Mercurio (Spanish teacher)and Mrs. Morris in Ecuador having a passionate affair during summer break. During lunch my friends read my efforts and exploded with laughter, wanting more. I was hooked. I presented my childish scribblings to my world and I was applauded. Even my first magazine sale didn't bring the emotions I felt when my friends said they wanted more. Too bad they didn't become editors.
